MOUNDVIEW  HOUSING  DEVELOPMENT

In the early 60’s the subject of apartment housing for Pilot Mound came to mind.  Workers were retiring as well as farmers and they had to move to other communities to find adequate housing.  About this time the federal government realized this need and formed the Farmers Home Administration to make low interest loans available to small towns.  Pilot Mound was one of the first towns to take advantage of this program.  The Pilot Mound Development Inc. was formed, and the first unit of 4 apartments was completed and occupied in June of 1966, the second unit of 4 was built in 1968, and the third unit of 7 apartments was completed in 1970. The project has been very successful and enjoyed by many residents over the years.

          The Senior Citizen-handicap accessible apartments are owned by Pilot Mound Development Inc., a non-profit organization. The project was originally financed by the FmHA and is now financed locally.  The apartments offer a kitchen with eating area, bathroom, living room, closets, and one bedroom.  Rent includes utilities, garbage removal, and seasonal property care and regular maintenance.  Residents are responsible for their own telephone and cable TV if desired.  Some apartments have washer/dryer hook-ups, while others, a washer and dryer are available in the basement of unit #3.

          One month’s rent is required for security deposit.  No pets are permitted.  8 garages are available on a first come basis for an extra charge.

Deck's Service Station

Deck's Service has been serving northwest Boone county in the same location since 1962 as a service station and convenience store.

We do most under car and under hood services. Under car services include exhaust, brake, suspension and alignment, and new tire sales. Under hood services include routine lube-oil-filter service, featuring Mobil Oil, electrical repair, engine management “CHECK ENGINE” light repair, belts, hoses, batteries, and more. Deck is certified in several ASE area's.

Our convenience store carries pop, cigarettes, candy, ice, chips, food items, movie rentals, and many other items found in a convenience store.

and Sunday 10 A.M. Till noon.

 Twister Lounge is owned and operated by Jay and Barb Williams of Pilot Mound. They serve the best food in the area.

 Karaoke is everyother Satruday. Check with Jay on weeks and times.
